ProjectStella was founded by Gloss Photography Studios in 2009, which benefits the Wisconsin Humane Society. Its multi-faceted fundraising efforts include:

-pet photoshoots held at Gloss & an 8×10 fine art portrait

-favorite pet contests

-ProjectStella closing closing fundraiser event

The 2nd Annual ProjectStella’11 raised $7,500.00. Collectively, since ProjectStella was founded has raised over $12,500.00 and have photographed over 150 pets. All of which directly benefits the Wisconsin Humane Society.

So… as a lot of you know we have been asked by Shorewood to be the official photographers for the Shorewood BID’s Public Art event again this year, which is: Best Seats in the House. This event is going to be absolutely amazing, as 40 artists have created masterpieces by painting, mosaicing, and other mediums to the benches and will be displayed at 41 area  businesses in the Business District of Shorewood. (yes, Gloss is hosting yet another amazing artist this year).

Anyways, we photographed all of these beautiful benches at different Shorewood locations, and the last of the benches on Day 3 were photographed at a beautiful home on Lake Drive in Shorewood.

ProjectStella has been going strong with shoots, even though the Pet Contest is over and the votes have been tallied… I am not going to tell you the very special winners who raised the most money. I will say, there might be some honorable mentions at the ProjectStella event.

With the newest press in Milwaukee Magazine online, we have extended our pet shoot opportunity of ProjectStella until next Friday…

And then Saturday the 27th is the BIG day, the ProjectStella Open House from 3-7pm… we are going to have a blast with our amazing Silent Auction, music, refreshments, snacks, & winner announcements.

Not TOO long ago I went to the Milwaukee Art Museum’s AfterDark, which was hosting the IronCupcake Challenge. We went to support our friend Ashley Weber of Miss Cupcake.

A few weeks ago we had a great time at Village Pub shooting some promotional pieces of their food and atmosphere.

With the studio being right down the street on Oakland in Shorewood, I must say I have never popped in there before… but boy, will I now. What a fun & great environment for watching some sports and eattin’ a burger and drinkin’ a beer!

Our Milwaukee For Haiti

When: Sunday January 31st

Where: Lakefront Brewery

 Time: 1pm – 9pm Address: 1872 North Commerce St.

 Come and join us in supporting local Milwaukee efforts to help Haiti. The event will take place from 1pm-9pm at Lakefront Brewing Company. Many members of Milwaukee’s business community have donated prizes and auction items to help raise funds for the cause. 100% of all beer/drink sales will go to this effort as well as all donations and all income from the prize drawing/silent auction. Kids, families, everyone welcome!!! The 2 Milwaukee-connected charities we will be supporting are Friends of Orphans http://www.friendsoftheorphans.org/s/769/start.aspx and Youth Haiti http://www.youthaiti.org. Music will be provided by our friends Chalice in the Palace, Dub District, and Cecilio Negrón Jr. (percussionist – De La Buena/Kings Go Forth) and food/snacks will be supplied by a host of Our Milwaukee members. There will also be presentations from representatives of both of our recipient charities. The drawing and silent auction will have items provided by over 40 local Milwaukee businesses with prizes and auction items ranging in value, from some at $100 and a few valued at over $1000! This is a great way to take advantage of the great products and services that our community provides all the while benefiting the organizations helping the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
